Richard Lopacki
- Position: Director of Rugby & Men's Coach
Richard has coached the Princeton men since 2000. He also helped coach the Princeton women in addition to the men from 2003-2006. During this time, Princeton teams have won 3 Ivy Championships, 6 New Jersey State Titles and 6 EPRU championships. Richard has also helped Princeton reach the US Round of 16 four times, including the Final Four twice, and made it all the way to the USA Rugby national final in 2004.
He is also coach of the Princeton Flying Tigers (PURFC alumni team) and has coached them to victories over teams such as Martinique, British Virgin Islands, Curacao and US Virgin Islands.
Richard has been involved in helping coach various select sides in the US including 4 years with the Pacific Coast Collegiate Grizzlies where he helped them win two USA National Championships.
Richard previously coached at Northern Suburbs RFC (Sydney, Australia) for 3 years, MIT for two years and Northwestern University for 7 years.
He started playing rugby at 12 years of age, and played continuously until multiple knee injuries finally forced him to retire at the age of 27. During his rugby playing career, Richard played for the University of Wales, London Welsh, London Polish, Northwestern University, and the Chicago Lions. He also represented various select sides both in the US and UK.
