Princeton Retains Koranda Cup
Led by Captain Anteneh Sarbanes ’16, Princeton won the 15th annual Koranda Cup match 31-19 against Yale University.
Princeton got off to a fast start, playing some of its best rugby all year, and led 31-5 thirty-five minutes into the game. Overall five tries were scored with backs and forwards working together to move the ball across the pitch. Princeton trys were scored by Anteneh Sarbanes ‘16, Chinezimuzo Mmegwa ‘18, Olutobiloba Aboaba ‘19 and Ali Alami ‘16 who scored 2 tries. Max Weber ‘17 kicked three conversions.
Yale scored under the posts right before halftime and kicked the conversion bringing the score to 31-12 at the break and they came back strong throughout the second half.

As the game progressed, Yale’s superior conditioning started to tell and Princeton was put under more and more pressure. When the Princeton fullback was shown a Yellow card for preventing the quick release of the ball in a Yale ruck 10 meters from the Princeton try line, Yale scored a final try, exploiting their numerical advantage, and successfully made the conversion to make the score 31-19 at the final whistle.
Playing only his 4th ever rugby match, Britt Colcolough ’16 was named Princeton’s Man of the Match.
