- Position: Forwards Coach
Paul Scanlon was born and lived in England before moving to Princeton, NJ, May 2023. Paul started playing minis rugby at Barkers’ Butts RFC, a local community club, moving through all the age groups, becoming First team Captain, Club Captain and Coach. In his 36 years at the Club, he achieved County and Divisional playing honors and captained the club to League and Cup wins.
Paul started his coaching journey in 1995, qualifying as a Level 2 Rugby coach in 2009. Later that year he started working for ‘England Rugby’, the national governing body of the sport, as a Community Rugby Coach. The role involved practical coaching sessions, and Coach education training to support Local Clubs, Schools, Colleges and Universities. During his time at England Rugby, Paul was selected to qualify as a Coach Educator where he tutored coaches through their Level 1 & 2 Rugby coaching qualifications.
In recent years, Paul has coached and occasionally played for Princes Risborough RFC in England, a small club with a massive heart and love for Rugby. Paul has kept his coaching up to date and has attended a USA Rugby Level 2 course in early 2023.
